Demo day is one of our favorite parts of any remodel. Not because it's easy - but because it's where everything starts. The old stuff comes out, the walls open up, and you finally get a clear picture of what you're actually working with.
That's exactly where we are on this bathroom and bedroom remodel. Walls stripped back to the studs, flooring pulled, ceiling opened up. The plumbing rough-in is exposed and ready to be repositioned. All the decisions made during planning are about to become real.
Here's the thing most people don't realize about demo - it's not just destruction. It's an information-gathering phase. Once the walls are open, we can confirm the framing condition, check the insulation, verify plumbing and electrical layouts, and make sure the plan we built on paper actually works with what the structure gives us. Every remodel we do starts here, with this kind of honest look at what's behind the finished surfaces.
We're documenting this one start to finish. From bare subfloor and exposed rafters to a fully finished bathroom and bedroom. If you've been thinking about a remodel of your own, follow along - this is a good look at how the process actually works, step by step.
More updates coming as this space takes shape. The framing stage is next, and that's where the new layout really starts to come to life.
